Description:
The C-130 Air Tanker Pilot is based remotely throughout California. The C-130 Air Tanker Pilot executes aerial firefighting missions as the Second In Command (SIC) of C-130 Air Tankers as directed by CalFire Operations. The C-130 Air Tanker Pilot may perform Functional Check Flights, Maintenance Check Flights, and Acceptance Check Flights. Other duties include but are not limited to: ferrying aircraft (both intrastate and interstate) as directed, and provide coverage for other C-130 Air Tanker Pilots during fire season.
Responsibilities:
Staff C-130 Airtankers at assigned CalFire bases on assigned duty schedule. Ideal candidates would reside within 45 minutes of assigned Air Attack Base. Act as Second in Command (SIC) of assigned C-130 Airtankers.
- Work in cohesion with other CalFire aircraft.
- Respond to assigned dispatches accordingly and be airborne within 15 minutes of dispatch notification.
- Act in accordance with assigned Air Attack Base policy and procedure.
- Adhere to all Cal Fire 8300 policy and procedures.
- Adhere to all Amentum General Operation Manual policy and procedure.
- Act in a professional manner, always, in accordance with Amentum standards.

- Night: 100
- FAA L-382 certification or military equivalent.
- FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate.
- FAA Airplane Multi-Engine Land Rating.
- FAA Airplane Instrument Rating.
- Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate, plus Electrocardiogram (ECG) Endorsement for Pilots over age 40.
- Meet FAR 61.56 and 61.57 for day, night, and instrument recency, regardless of whether passengers will be carried.
Compensation & Benefits
HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $167.11- $239.70 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
