Position Summary
If you’re the type of person who looks for excitement in a career, then you need to consider becoming a munitions systems specialist in the Air Force. You’ll learn how to handle and identify high-explosive incendiary rounds and a vast array of bombs. You’ll become an expert in handling, storage, transporting, arming and disarming weapons systems to ensure everyone stays as safe as possible and the mission is successful.
Primary Responsibilities
- Handle, store and transport weapons and locally dispose of nonhazardous, unserviceable munitions.
- Prepare munitions for loading on aircraft.
- Inspect munitions for serviceability.
- Conduct inventories and correct discrepancies.
- Establish and evaluate performance standards, maintenance controls and work procedures.

Qualifications
This job requires military service with a contract as a commissioned officer in the Air Force. The application is for a specific position within the Air Force. To be considered, you must meet the following requirements:
- Have a high school diploma, GED with 15 college credits or GED.
- Normal color vision
- Normal depth perception
- No record of emotional instability or domestic violence
- Possession of a valid state driver’s license to operate government motor vehicles
- Completion of 7.5 weeks of Basic Military Training
- Must be between the ages of 17 and 42
