Job Description
CEA Technologies, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Radar/Electronic Warfare (EW) Systems Field Engineering Technician to provide operation and sustainment support to a system of radars being integrated into the Joint Pacific Alaska Range Complex (JPARC). CEA Technologies specializes in state-of-the-art element-level Digital Beam Formed (DBF) Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar, communications and missile illumination systems for land and maritime environments.
The successful candidate will initially spend 90-120 days training and orientation traveling between Delta Junction AK & Fairbanks AK (Eielson Air Force Base AK). After completion, this will be complemented potentially in 2025 by extensive on-the-job training at our parent company's facility in Canberra, Australia for approximately 2-4 weeks to become knowledgeable of all aspects required to support these unique CEA systems.
If/when needed, the individual may be deployed to other U.S. ranges to support customer requirements.
Responsibilities / tasks include:
1. Perform complex maintenance on all aspects of the radars covering various digital, RF, power and cooling hardware utilizing commercial manuals, OEM supplied documentation to include drawings / schematics and computer-based diagnostic tools. Maintenance activities will include:
· Planned maintenance (inspections, servicing, calibration)
· Corrective maintenance (troubleshooting, fault detection / isolation, screening, repair)
2. Support the operation of the radars on various DoD test ranges including:
· Setup / teardown and performing serviceability assessment
· Support during remote field deployment and troubleshooting software and hardware anomalies
· Waveform validation
· Limited on-site corrective maintenance
· Diagnosing malfunctions and replacing components
· Detailed inspection, record keeping, and administration
· Operate and maintain radar systems and associated power / cooling peripheral equipment
· Assist with training US government / range contractor personnel
· Site maintenance activities of snow removal, brush clearing, and maintenance activities
3. Willingness and agility to perform duties outside of core responsibilities to support mission operations
4. Document your work in a timely and accurate manner according to the processes, standards, and confidentiality guidelines
5. Understand and comply with Safety, Security, Export, Information Technology rules and guidelines
6. Work in remote work areas, indoors and outdoors, at elevated heights (~20 feet), and in confined spaces with appropriate and company provided safety gear
7. Lift up to 50 pounds and perform strenuous tasks of snow shoveling and moving heavy power cables
8. Ensure a professional, proactive, and customer-oriented approach to the support of the radar systems
9. Communicate and maintain a quality management plan including conformance and continuous improvement initiatives
10. Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
1. Five years minimum demonstrated experience in the operation and / or sustainment of complex military electronic systems – ideally radar and EW systems
2. Associate’s degree in a relevant technical discipline (e.g., electronics, RF communications, etc.)
3. Prior field experience
4. Ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities
5. Eager to apply your technical skills to learn new radar system operational concepts and apply that knowledge in the field
6. Willingness and ability to work in extreme and varying weather conditions, i.e. temperatures down to -40F, high winds, and rain with company provided arctic gear
7. Possess technical and interpersonal skills necessary to perform in a tightly integrated team of engineers and technicians as well as independently in the field during high visibility exercises
8. Must be capable of achieving a U.S. DoD SECRET clearance within six months of employment. Active DoD SECRET clearance preferred.
9. Knowledge of and experience maintaining electrical, electronic, environmental, hydraulic and mechanical principles relating to radar and EW systems
10. Must be willing and able (on potentially short-notice) to deploy/travel to a variety of domestic locations and for a variety of deployment durations to meet customer needs
Desirable Qualifications:
1. Active DoD SECRET clearance
2. Knowledge of and experience maintaining electrical, environmental, hydraulic and mechanical subsystems relating to radar and EW systems
3. Excellent communicator, both written and oral
4. Project Management experience
5. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft applications – Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint
6. Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License
