Assembler 1 – Non-Exempt

Our Precision Components division is looking for an Assembler to assemble aircraft component parts following operation sheets & blueprints using a variety of small hand tools and machinery.
Location: Based out of Cheshire, CT
Reports to: Production Supervisor

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Assemble complex aerospace components
Inspect and verify quality of work when complete
Use micrometers and calipers to verify work performed is conforming to BP tolerance
Files and buff part to fit.
Drill, tap, ream, countersink parts using a Bridgeport
Positions and aligns parts.
Bolts, screws, and rivets parts together.
Disassembles and replaces parts as required.
Cleans and lubricates parts and assemblies.
Marks identifying information on parts.
Lifts pieces and positions and secures it on a machine table or in holding fixtures.
Stops machine after a trial run to inspect the piece to ensure conformance to operation sheets and blueprints.
Communicates with co-workers and supervisor to receive instructions and coordinate activities & schedules.
Inspects and measures parts to maintain statistical process control charts.
Assist other assemblers and employees as required to meet production and safety requirements.
Keep the immediate work area clean and organized.
Keep the facility clean, organized, and free of obstructions.
Training new employees
Must be a “US Person” as defined by US Government and able to work without restriction with ITAR related data.
Must be able to read, write, understand, and speak English at a functional level
Various other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Regular and predictable attendance.
Participate in training as required
5-10% Domestic Travel required

Ensure the safety and housekeeping standards are met
Perform other duties as required or directed, whether or not specifically mentioned in the job description
Physical Demands:
Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead and bend to the floor.
Exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or
Exert 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or
Exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
Must be able to lift, push, or pull at least 50 lbs.
Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, bend, and move about our facility
Requirements:
Must have a High School Diploma or GED or equivalent work experience
Must have 2+ years of experience
Must have 2 to 4 years of trade school, vocational education, work experience and/or apprenticeship.
