Description
Draken is searching for an experienced Metals Technology Specialist to maintain F-16 A/B models at the Romanian Air Force (RoAF) F-16 Training Center at the 86th Air Base, near Borcea, Romania. These aircraft will be used to train RoAF pilots.

JOB OVERVIEW
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, structure repair manuals, and understanding general notes without assistance
- Performs metals technology shop calculations such as determining cutting speeds and settings, welding processes, and preheat and postheat requirements. Maintain and inspect hand tools and metal working machinery
- Welds, brazes, solders, and heat treats metals
- Uses manual and computer numerical controlled (CNC) metal working machines, mills, and lathes to manufacture and repair cams, gears, slots, and keyways for aircraft components and SE
- Checks completed components and determines serviceability in accordance with drawings and specifications
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- At least 4 years of directly related experience to the repair and fabrication of aircraft parts.
- Ability to work with precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, tape measures, and standard scales
- Ability to re-manufacture parts from scratch without drawings such as ribs, stringers and skins on aircraft flight controls
- Ability to solve practical problems and work with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to install new modifications through engineering documentation and technical orders
- Ability to facilitate corrosion control through application and removal of protective coatings, treatments, markings, and decals on aircraft and support equipment using conventional spray-painting equipment, brushes, rollers, and special applicators
- Must be able to read and interpret technical data written in English
- Must be able to obtain/maintain security clearance
