This is a GG-12 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-12 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-12 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.

EXPERIENCE: Your resume must show the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: Knowledge of the concepts, principles and techniques to establish, implement, and maintain an effective protocol program requiring extensive knowledge of military traditions and skill in working with high-level military, civilians, and foreign dignitaries.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of the DoD and AF organizational structure, key personnel, protocol and etiquette standards and procedures, and administrative policies and practices; and knowledge of organization and activities of other units, major commands, joint services and legislative liaison offices to determine appropriate programs for presentation to visitors from those organizations and level of protocol courtesies to be accorded based on rank precedence, and significance to the NASIC mission.
2. Thorough knowledge of Air Force customs and courtesies, and skill in conducting complex ceremonial functions and procedures; ability to determine appropriate customs and courtesies requirements correct deficiencies; ability to deliver proper courtesies and amenities for distinguished visitors and avoid embarrassment to the visitor and the NASIC Commander as a representative of the United States Air Force.
3. Knowledge and understanding of NASIC's organizational structure, functions, policies, and operations and missions; basic knowledge and understanding of intelligence functional programs and security (Communications Security and Operations Security); and standard organizational budget procedures.
4. Skill in gathering, evaluating, interpreting, and drawing appropriate conclusions from varied information/data; ability to analyze and research the backgrounds and special needs/interests of visitors and assimilate information into appropriate protocol functions/events as well as identify problem areas to formulate alternatives and implement mutual solutions.
5. Ability and skill to effectively plan, organize, and coordinate itineraries for senior officers, government officials and foreign dignitaries; senior officials of industry, to include local, state and federal elected officials, to include members of Congress and their senior staff.
6. Skill and ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly and concisely to interact with a variety of individuals and groups to explain and carry out the activities and requirements of NASICs Protocol Program and its objectives and policies; to obtain the cooperation of others; to conduct and coordinate protocol activities; and maintain good working relationships.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
