The UH60, AH64, CH47 Prop and Rotor Powertrain – Back Shop Mechanic AMII performs and inspects aviation unit (AVUM), intermediate (AVIM) and depot maintenance on assigned aircraft systems.
Perform maintenance and repair on aircraft sub-system assemblies such as main rotor heads, transmissions, stabilators, and their sub-components.
Inspect parts for wear, cracks, security, or other defects.
Perform component bearing replacement, bushing replacement, and line reaming of bushings.
Perform Periodic Maintenance Inspection (PMI) on main rotor heads from UH-60, AH-64, and CH-47 aircraft.
Perform Time Before Overhaul (TBO) replacement.
Responsible for completion and maintenance of applicable forms and records.
Recommend methods to improve equipment performance and maintenance procedures.
Observe all safety, environmental and general housekeeping rules and policies.
Perform general aircraft maintenance duties (removal and installation of aircraft assemblies and components such as engines, rotors, transmissions, mechanical flight controls).
Perform additional duties as requested.
Minimum Requirements:
High School Graduate or equivalent is required.
Shall have Five (5) years of recent applicable aircraft maintenance experience.
FAA A&P or FCC Elements 1 and 3 required.
Must possess (FAA) A&P certificate, with at least Two (2) years' aviation maintenance experience, and Two years on the assigned MDS UH60, CH47, AH64.
All experience must be within the Five (5) most recent years.
If no A&P certificate, must possess or being willing to obtain an FCC License with Elements 1 and 3, and Must have Three (3) years aviation maintenance experience, Three (3) years rotary wing aircraft experience and Two (2) years minimum on the assigned Mission Design Series UH-60, AH-64, CH-47 (MDS).
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance, (NACI T1) Public Trust. US Citizenship is required to obtain the required NACI Clearance. (Interim NACI approval required for deployment).
Valid US Passport Required for travel to Germany.
Germany Specific:
Knowledge & Skills
Experience using a variety of common hand tools and measuring devices such as gauges, torque wrenches, scales, and TMDE (Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment).
Ability to cross train in various maintenance disciplines (i.e. powerplant, blade shop, or general maintenance on UH-60, AH-64 and CH-47 aircraft).
Must have skill in reading, applying, and interpreting technical data from maintenance manuals, modification (MWO) installation instructions, schematics, and engineering drawings.
Knowledge of quality, production, and supply processes required to perform job assignment.
Analytical skills required to perform complex troubleshooting.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Must be able to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, crouch and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
Frequently lift parts and equipment up to 20 pounds.
Occasionally lift objects up to 50 pounds.
Must be immediately deployable to potential combat areas worldwide.
