Metrea Executive Aviation (MXA) has established itself as a versatile force in the business aviation industry, offering an array of specialized services. It operates four business units across the spectrum of business aviation. Providing Part 135 Charter, Aircraft Management, Part 145 Repair Services, and Fixed Based Operations (FBO). Position Summary
This role is responsible for leading avionics installations, troubleshooting, and repair work scopes within the Avionics Department. A Level 4 Technician will have 15 or more years of aviation maintenance training and experience, with at least 4 years on a Metrea A/C Type. The ideal Level 4 Technician will have an A&P License and 3 Gen Fams on Metrea A/C Types. The Level 4 Technician will have a Mastery of the required knowledge and troubleshooting skills. Not only would they work unsupervised, but as an expert within their skill set or aircraft type, they could independently lead a team of mechanics on a special project or aircraft.
Experience working on ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) type platforms to include system integration, proto-types, experimental and STC certification, would be a plus for a candidate we are considering for this position. Avionic Suite upgrade experience would also be beneficial for anyone being considered for this position.
Role and Responsibilities
- Ability and willingness to mentor junior avionics personnel when working together on tasks.
- Lead avionics personnel on special projects or tasks while maintaining the highest level of quality and workmanship in accordance with (IAW) published authority.
- Mastery of the skills required to troubleshoot, repair, modify, install, and update avionics systems without direct supervision.
- Extensive experience with integration of new avionics systems or other electronic systems within an airframe, by building wire harnesses, proper pinning, crimping, routing, terminating and functional checking aircraft avionic systems after modifications.
- Working knowledge and experience with the STC approval process, conformity of parts, first article inspections, document control and red lining procedures. This would include experience working with Engineering, ODA’s, DER’s, DAR’s and Quality Control to ensure the success of a project.
- Coordinate with inspection department to complete proper paperwork required for each installation and/or repair.
- Assist the Avionics Lead in coordination with other departments to progress avionics installations and/or repairs of assigned projects.
- Assist supervisors with issues involving parts and drawings for assigned installation and/or repair work scopes.
- Assist enforcement of company and departmental policies and procedures.
- Advise the Avionics Lead of any work-related issues.
- Ability to supervise avionics personnel in absence of an Avionics Lead.
- Provide proper accountability of personal tools IAW local repair station policies and procedures.
Skills and Experience
- 15 or more years of experience performing avionics, troubleshooting, repairs or modifications.
- Airframe & Powerplant License.
- Mastery of the skills required to successfully accomplish any assigned avionics task.
- Ability to fabricate wiring harnesses from approved technical drawings.
- Experience with proto-type modifications and certification processes.
- Willingness to perform non-avionics A&P mechanic tasks when assigned.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on the success of the team.
- Customer focused, continually looking for ways to add valve for the customer.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels within the organization.
- High level of cleanliness while completing work, understanding the importance of protecting wire harnesses and other components during maintenance. Clean as you go.
- Professional well-groomed appearance a plus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with department and business needs. Non-Exempt employees may be required to work over 40 hours per week with approval from the department manager.
