Metrea Executive Aviation (MXA) has established itself as a versatile force in the business aviation industry, offering an array of specialized services. It operates four business units across the spectrum of business aviation. Providing Part 135 Charter, Aircraft Management, Part 145 Repair Services, and Fixed Based Operations (FBO). Position Summary
This role is primarily responsible for structural maintenance on corporate type airframes undergoing heavy modifications. However, when structural duties are not required, they will be called upon to complete other routine aircraft maintenance within the department. A Level 4 Structures Technician will have 15 or more years of heavy structural modification and composite experience. The ideal Level 4 structural technician will have an A&P License and experience with Gulfstream, Hawker, Challenger, King Air or other small to large type corporate aircraft. The Level 4 structures technician will have a mastery of the skills required to successfully accomplish any structural task assigned. Not only can they work unsupervised, but as an expert within their skill set or aircraft type(s), they could independently lead a team of other structures mechanics on a special project or aircraft.
Role and Responsibilities
- Ability and willingness to mentor lower-level mechanics when working together on tasks.
- Lead structural AMTs on special projects or tasks while maintaining the highest level of quality and workmanship in accordance with (IAW) published authority, ensuring compliance with FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) requirements.
- Mastery of the skills required to successfully complete structure task(s) including composite, wet layup, and aircraft modification of unique applications of aircraft systems without direct supervision.
- Extensive experience with integration of new aircraft systems requiring extensive modification of original aircraft structures by interpreting engineering drawings and using standing practice experience to overcome challenges routinely encountered during such mods.
- Working knowledge and experience with the STC approval process, conformity of parts, first article inspections, document control and red lining procedures. This would include experience working with Engineering, ODA’s, DER’s, DAR’s and Quality Control to ensure the success of a project.
- Coordinate with inspection department to complete proper paperwork required for each installation/repair.
- Assist Lead AMT in coordination with other departments to progress installations and/or repairs of assigned projects.
- Assist supervision by identifying issues with proposed parts and drawings utilized to accomplish major alterations or modifications to company aircraft.
- Assist enforcement of company and departmental policies.
- Advise Lead AMT of any assigned personnel’s work-related issues.
- Ability to supervise AMT personnel in absence of the Lead AMT.
- Provide proper accountability of personal tools IAW local repair station policies.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on the success of the team.
- Customer focused, continually looking for ways to add valve for the customer.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels within the organization.
- Willingness and desire to mentor less experienced structural mechanics on the team.
- High level of cleanliness while completing work, understanding the importance of protecting wire harnesses or other components during structural repairs. Clean as you go!
- Professional well-groomed appearance a plus.
Skills and Experience
- 15 or more years of experience performing heavy structures repairs or modifications.
- Airframe & Powerplant License.
- Mastery of the skills required to successfully accomplish any structural task assigned.
- Ability to fabricate basic parts from approved drawings.
- Experience with proto-type modifications and certification processes.
- Willingness to perform non-structural A&P mechanic tasks when assigned by Lead AMT.
- Wet lay-up and basic composite panel repairs to include vacuum bagging techniques.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with department and business demands. Non-Exempt employees may be required to work over 40 hours per week in support of projects or customer demands with approval from the department manager.

Work Environment
Typical MRO hangar operational area to include ramp work during launch and recovery of client aircraft.
Physical Demands
This position involves daily physical activity such as walking, kneeling, squatting, lifting, reaching overhead, climbing and utilization for hands/fingers.
