This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams and locations.
We are a team of dedicated collaborators and problem-solvers committed to safety. The Senior Military Programs Specialist will develop and implement Blue Origin’s military recruitment and engagement strategy. This high-impact role involves developing initiatives to attract and retain veterans and military spouses, working closely with senior leaders.
As the leader of military programs, you'll ensure they align with our inclusive workforce vision. You'll report to the Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Accessibility and collaborate with HR professionals.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Blue Origin's military outreach, recruitment, and engagement strategy, crafting programs for veterans, military spouses, and senior stakeholders.
- Advise leadership on integrating military talent, identifying hiring opportunities, and aligning efforts with DEIA goals.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition, HR, and Executives to establish military talent pipelines for key roles in engineering, operations, and leadership.
- Build relationships with senior military officials, veteran organizations, and government agencies to position Blue Origin as a top employer for military talent.
- Design onboarding, mentorship, and professional development initiatives for military veterans and spouses transitioning to the civilian workforce.
- Develop and track key performance metrics, providing insights and reports to senior leadership to inform program adjustments.
- Advocate for veterans and military families within the company, offering recommendations for their integration into Blue Origin’s culture.
- Represent Blue Origin at military events, conferences, and speaking engagements to promote our commitment to veterans and military spouses.
- Ensure alignment with Blue Origin's corporate and DEIA goals, collaborating with senior collaborators to optimize program support.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent military experience.
- 7+ years of experience in military program development or veteran outreach at a high level, including experience collaborating with senior executives.
- Demonstrated capability to impact, lead cross-functional teams, and drive central initiatives with measurable results.
- Strong business insight with the ability to integrate military programs into the broader corporate strategy.
- Knowledge of diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility principles as they relate to military programs
- Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills, with a track record of effectively interacting with senior leaders, military personnel, and external customers.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to use data to drive decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Deep understanding of military culture and veteran transition programs, with the ability to translate this knowledge into actionable business strategies.
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the aerospace, defense, or technology industries is highly preferred.
- PMP certification or similar project management credentials.
Compensation Range for:
WA applicants is $134,608.50-$188,451.90
