The Clark County Department of Aviation is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Airport Digital Media Coordinator position. This position provides support to all facets of the Public Affairs and Marketing team, including, but not limited to, production of digital media content such as newsletters, video production, press releases, social media content, website copy, etc. At times, this position may be asked to create a variety of written and visual content to support marketing efforts across divisions. Individuals in this position should be highly organized and have the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects at a time.
This examination will establish an Open Competitive Eligibility list to fill current and/or future vacancies that may occur within the next six (6) months or may be extended as needed by Human Resources.

This classification is designated exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and is therefore, not eligible for overtime.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Information, Public Relations, Social Media Management, or a related field, and two (2) years of full-time professional experience developing written and visual content to promote internal and/or external communication, which may include experience in a social media focused environment, developing and implementing public information programs, and/or print or broadcast media experience (writer, editor, publicist, etc.). Professional level experience and/or education that has provided the skills and knowledge necessary to perform all job functions at this level may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Licensing and Certification: Must possess a valid Nevada Class C Driver's License at time of hire.
Working Conditions: Attend meetings and make presentations outside of normal working hours.

Residency Requirement: Permanent employees must maintain a principal place of residency within the boundaries of Clark County and provide proof of compliance with Nevada motor vehicle registration and drivers' license laws within 90 days of employment.

Background Check: Employment with the Department of Aviation is contingent upon completion of an education/experience background investigation, a fingerprint-based criminal history record check processed by the FBI, and upon the ability to be granted a security badge as mandated by the Transportation Security Administration. Customs and Border Protection Security Seal Program:Employment with the Department of Aviation in this job title is contingent upon a ten year employment and five year residency history record check and the ability to present original identity based documentation in order to meet the requirements for a Security Seal.

Creates graphic media such as brochures, camera-ready artwork, illustrations, posters, publications, signage, slides, training materials, video, and visual aids, etc. Operates digital camera to take pictures for department activities, events, and sites. Engages platforms effectively, ensures content is in line with department's mission, vision, and goals. Monitors best practices and trends in existing and emerging digital, graphics; recommends hardware, software, and materials purchases as appropriate. Interacts with and effectively communicates in a professional manner with members of the public, elected/appointed officials, department/agency directors, other high-profile individuals and airport employees, tenants, airlines and concessionaires. Maintains files, logs, and records of work performed. Uses standard office equipment, including a computer, desktop publishing hardware and software, and audio-visual equipment in the course of the work. Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the unit's service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team. Drives a personal or County motor vehicle to attend meetings, escort vendors and reach off-site locations.
Public Affairs: Develops media materials, including writing and producing brochures, editorials, newsletters, talking points, speeches, videos, web communications, and PowerPoint presentations. Assists with planning, preparing, and staffing public communication and marketing events; may assist with DOA media response. Works with departmental Web Master to design and maintain department and division web page content. Maintains department digital media presence on all relevant platforms, works to grow social media presence. Contributes and engages online and social media audiences on a daily, real-time basis to respond to comments and inquires, seed content, and facilitate conversations. Develops and maintains content calendar for social media sites. Responds to complaints, compliments, and inquiries received via website and social media. Plans external digital marketing campaigns including requirements, execution, and budget, if applicable. Develops and monitors effective benchmarks, including anecdotal, for measuring social media engagement; uses key social media analytics systems to track, analyze, review, and report on effectiveness of findings. Monitors trends in social media applications, channels, design, strategy, and tools.
Employee Services: Manages online presence through the use of digital breakroom monitors and internal applications for Department of Aviation Training & Wellness programs and activities to grow organizational culture and employee engagement. Develops communication strategies focused on employee engagement and culture as aligned with the Strategic Plan. Develops and implements tools to stream live training and wellness classes. Develops and implements regular video content for organization, including podcast, holiday videos, and content for leadership team. Administers electronic communication boards and employee communication mobile app. Assists with planning, preparing, and staffing employee communication and engagement events. Creates signage and handout materials for career fairs and informational materials to assist in marketing department job openings. Works with departmental Web Master to design and maintain the careers page on the external page and all intranet page content. Develops and maintains content calendar for internal communication channels. Plans internal digital marketing campaigns including requirements, execution, and budget, if applicable.
