Capability Unit
Metrea Strategic Mobility (MSM) operates a fleet of KC-135 aircraft, offering an air-to-air refueling service that seamlessly, safely, and professionally integrates into military aviation training and operations.
Position Summary
The Maintenance Controller provides real-time status of the fleet utilizing the Metrea enterprise software system, while also supporting line maintenance technicians. The Maintenance controller will monitor all planned maintenance events, coordinate with other responsible departments the resolution of any AOG or unplanned maintenance event and will provide any additional support as needed by the airline for the purpose of conducting safe and on-time flight operations.
Role and Responsibilities
- Ensure all aircraft are operated and maintained in accordance with the Minimum Equipment List (MEL), Configuration Deviation List (CDL) or other Western Global Airlines approved deferrals, and take necessary measures taken to correct these items.
- Monitor deferrals and ensure planned action for correction at the next maintenance opportunity.
- Monitor service checks and other planned events ensuring completion and compliance that all work is performed per applicable aircraft manuals and company policy and procedures.
- Effective resolution of complex issues and repeat maintenance items through analysis of troubleshooting and manufacturer data including soliciting or requesting any additional technical information necessary and directing actions to be taken to minimize cost and unnecessary part replacement.
- Configuration Deviation List (CDL) or other WGA-approved deferrals, and take necessary measures to correct these items.
- Effective communication with all required maintenance personnel, company leadership, and within the Network Control Center relating to out-of-service aircraft and estimate of return to service time.
- Effectively communicate with all maintenance personnel as needed so that there is a clear understanding of the work that needs to be accomplished.
- Provide guidance as needed regarding aircraft systems and general maintenance knowledge, with the ability to communicate with less experienced mechanics.
- Read and understand system wiring diagrams and structural repair manual.
- Will perform and adhere to all other responsibilities as described within the company General Maintenance Manual and will perform all other duties as assigned.
- Shall positively support and promote safety, security, and quality as a fundamental function of the overall responsibility.

Skills and Experience
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Formal training & certification in tool inventory control and equipment maintenance.
Experience:
- One Year of Previous Maintenance Control experience or 3 Years of line maintenance Experience on Large Category Transport aircraft or a combination of both.
Computer Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products (specifically Word and Excel)
Certificates and Licenses:
- Valid Driver’s License.
- FAA A&P Certificate.
- Inventory Management Certification.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Hours and work shifts may change by department and business needs. Non-exempt employees may be required to work over 40 hours per week with approval from the department manager.
