Position Summary
The Logistics Specialist 3 role is responsible for managing and optimizing the movement, storage, and distribution of all corporate materials, aviation parts, ground support equipment, tools, and commercial products. This role is responsible for overseeing and enhancing shipping, receiving, and inventory management processes. Additionally, this role provides strategic leadership and guidance to logistics team members, ensuring efficient operating and adherence to best practices.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Coordinate with suppliers, carriers, and internal stakeholders to manage the flow of goods from origin to destination.
- In conjunction with Global Trade Compliance, support the Import and Export process to ensure compliance with regulations and facilitate prompt delivery via DoD and commercial freight or express methods.
- Organize and manage warehouse space to ensure efficient storage and security of materials.
- Improve and implement logistics strategies to enhance supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, and streamline operations.
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments, verifying their contents against purchase orders and shipping documents.
- Unpack and organize received items, ensuring proper storage and inventory management.
- Prepare and process both inbound and outbound shipments, including tasks such as packaging, labeling, and documentation.
- Schedule and coordinate the transportation for outgoing shipments, ensuring optimal routing and timely dispatch.
- Maintain detailed records of shipments, customs documentation, and other relevant paperwork per company policies.
- Track inventory movements, conduct regular audits, and maintain accurate records to ensure inventory accuracy and integrity.
- Support the management and disposition of Government Furnished Equipment based on company policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements and company policies to maintain legal and operational standards.

- Maintain comprehensive records of shipments, customs documentation, and other relevant paperwork per company policies.
- Address and resolve any issues related to shipping, receiving, or inventory discrepancies promptly and effectively.
- Conduct inspections to verify the quality and accuracy of shipments.
- Prepare and present reports on logistics performance to leadership as required.
- Oversee transportation logistics, including route planning, carrier selection, and freight management to ensure rapid and cost-effective deliveries.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external customers to keep them informed about shipment status and any potential scheduling delays.
- Lead and mentor a team of Logistics Specialists, fostering a collaborative and performance driven culture focused on Metreas core values.

Skills and Experience
Education:
- Associate degree - Bachelor's Degree preferred
- 3 years’ work experience may be substituted for degree requirements.
Experience:
- 4+ years of Aviation logistics and supply chain management.
- COCO ISR Contract Procurement Experience
- Experience in International Shipping
Certificates and Licenses:
- Valid Driver’s License
- Forklift Operator
Computer Skills:
- Proficient in;
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Microsoft Dynamics D365
- Veryon or similar platform

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, in-person office position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours and work shift may change in accordance with department and business needs. Exempt Employees must have the ability to be on-call and available, as business needs require. Non-Exempt employees may be required to work over 40 hours per week with approval from the department manager.

Travel requirements are up to10%.
