Overview
The Events Services Specialist II provides specialized events planning for City departments to ensure compliance with the policies, procedures, rules, and regulations of the facilities and its uses.
Essential Functions
1 Coordinates event activities with organizers and promoters to ensure all contractual terms are in compliance with established policies and procedures; assists with events, productions, educational conferences, training meetings, airport operations, and any other special events throughout the City's departments and facilities.
2 Conducts tours showing the variety of usage, operations, and functions of the facilities to the prospective clients; develops strong marketing and promotional materials, manages event spaces, performs scheduling, and oversees set up and tear down for various events.
3 Inspects, reviews, and evaluates different facilities for event usage; monitors spaces for compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures; ensures all events are compliant with City Codes and National Fire and Safety Codes.
4 Oversees the planning, organizing and implementing of festivals and special events; oversees set up, equipment use, troubleshooting logistics, and general custodial activities related.
5 Plans, monitors, and maintains parking, security and public information to meet the safety needs of clients and patrons; monitors all event activities, plans, and requests to minimize scheduling and operational conflicts and oversees event to ensure all safety requirements are met.
6 Briefs staff and clients to keep abreast of details pertaining to upcoming events; develops, updates, and maintains computer databases and reporting systems to expedite logistical services and track event requirements.
7 Negotiates terms with various parties involved with events such as concessionaires, parking services, piano companies, musicians, florists, designers, lighting companies and clients to finalize pricing for conducting events; processes payments and assists with any issues or malfunctions in equipment use.
8 Executes event contracts from drafting to final execution when the contract is accepted by other party.
9 Performs any and all other work as needed or assigned.

4 Knowledge of traffic and parking procedures associated with large events.

Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in a business administration, event management, marketing, communications, public administration, merchandising, advertising or related field.

High school diploma or GED plus six (6) years of the required experience including two (2) years of the stated supervisory/management responsibilities will meet the education and experience requirements.

Associate degree (or higher) in any field plus four (4) years of the required experience including two (2) years of the stated supervisory/management responsibilities will meet the education and experience requirements.

Bachelor's degree (or higher) in a non-specified field plus four (4) years of the required experience including two (2) years of the stated supervisory/management responsibilities will meet the education and experience requirements.

NOTE:
This position will play a key role in curating, planning, managing, and executing a diverse range of art exhibitions within Love Field Airport. This includes overseeing art displays in permanent and temporary locations, such as display cases and public spaces. This position will also develop and implement engaging art-based activities aimed at enriching the experience of both airport staff and guests.
Salary Range
$57,087.47 - $67,765.23
