Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Contracts and Subcontracts, UK and Europe, you will be tasked with organizing and leading the contracts and subcontracts for assigned Business Units of the Metrea Enterprise in the UK and mainland Europe. Working closely alongside these Business Unit teams, including senior leadership, you will directly support their growth objectives. You will be responsible for effective contract management with government and commercial counterparties through the entire contracting lifecycle, from teaming agreements and receipt of solicitation bid/no bid decision-making, through ongoing contract management (including changes and disputes), the award and management of associated subcontracts, and contract close out. You will be responsible for the negotiation of significant contracts and subcontracts and modifications to such agreements, including contributing to drafting of terms and conditions, managing upwards through senior functional management and legal counsel when necessary. You will provide counsel to other functional areas on contracting topics, issues, and risk mitigation strategies. You will manage the effective flow down of terms and conditions found in prime (or head) contracts into contractual arrangements with Metrea’s suppliers. You will also contribute to longer term strategic projects improving Metrea’s contract management processes.
You must be fully knowledgeable of all legal, business, financial, and long-term implications of tender documentation, prime and subcontract negotiation and administration. Developing positive relationships with current and future internal and external customers is imperative in this role. You must have a good working knowledge and practical experience of UK MoD procurement (including DEFCONS and DEFFORMS) and of managing contractual issues with other UK Government Agencies as well as commercial transactions.

Position Responsibilities
- Effectively build strong relationships with internal and external customers;
- Effectively team with the Legal, Compliance and Contracts Team and business leaders to achieve business goals and objectives;
- Participate in business strategic planning activities for specific projects (e.g., risk assessment, bid/no bid analysis, participation in business plan development, commercial/international financing assessments, etc.);
- Develop and streamline contracts-related processes and procedures to meet the pace of business needs;
- Administer complex contractual activities for UK Government, predominantly MoD, contracts;
- Identify and resolve contract issues, risk areas, and implications of emerging contractual issues;
- Prepare and/or review contracts, subcontracts, modifications, bids, and invoices for content and accuracy;
- Lead Business Unit negotiations for contract related issues with customers and subcontractors and identify and resolve proposal issues and risk areas;
- Review tender documentation, contracts, modifications, bids and invoices, making key decisions;
- Draft and negotiate agreements, such as teaming agreements, consulting agreements, non- disclosure agreements, proposals, purchase orders, contracts and subcontracts;
- Establish proper process and procedures for Contracts to act as the official conduit of communications with customer procuring contracting officers and for business unit personnel to effectively communicate with their customers inside their respective project management offices within that framework;
- Present legal risks and recommend mitigation strategies to senior stakeholders and business leaders within the assigned Business Units and the wider Metrea enterprise.

Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 6:00pm Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with department and business needs. Exempt Employees must have the ability to be on-call and available, as business needs require.

Metrea Management Limited – London, UK- Hybrid.
Travel
Travel requirements are up to 25%, mostly domestic.
Required Education, Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, LLB, related fieldsor equivalent contract management work experience;
- Experience: Experience within UK Government and/or private industry, with a track record of relevant skills and contributions;
- Solid familiarity, understanding and practical experience of UK MoD procurement;
- Good understanding of contract terms and conditions and associated business risks;
- Proven ability to present contractual and associated business risks and recommended mitigation to business stakeholders.
Preferred Experience
- Proven background within UK Government and/or private industry that showcases relevant expertise and demonstrates strong knowledge in the field;
- Experience in Aerospace and Defence and Military sectors;
- Experience of working with UK, European and US Export regulations;
- Contractual, IP and business issues arising in connection with software design, development and licensing.
- Awareness of the US Government Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR & DFARS)
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Must have good command of the English language; oral and written.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
- Employee must be a UK citizen;
- Employee must be able to hold and maintain a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) and UK SC clearance and therefore must have been a resident of the UK for 5+ years.
