Description
Electrician, Maintenance Workers provide essential electrical maintenance and repair services to ensure the proper functioning of electrical systems and equipment. They apply advanced knowledge and experience to perform routine and complex electrical tasks, typically by following established maintenance procedures and guidelines. They are fully qualified, trained, and knowledgeable in the support, maintenance, and operation of electrical systems. Electrician, Maintenance Workers document discrepancies using reporting forms as required. This position has a wage range of $45,000 to $65,000.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Proficient in the use and operation of electrical diagnostic tools to perform pre- and post-operational tests on installed equipment and to perform preventive maintenance.
- Basic skills necessary to diagnose and isolate malfunctions in electrical systems; align, adjust, and calibrate installed electrical equipment.
- Basic skills to perform configurations, adjustments, and tests on electrical equipment; analyze operation, verify discrepancies, isolate malfunctions, and replace defective components used in installed devices.
- Maintain basic proficiency in the use of diagnostic programs, interpretation of results, and the use of program listings to isolate faults.
- Proficient in the use of electrical diagnostic tools, repair of electrical systems, and electrical control systems.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance using maintenance requirement cards and instructional manuals; perform daily system readiness tests, pre-operational and post-operational checkouts.
- Exhibit high performance and capability to work in a team environment.
- Able to work independently, with normal supervision.
- Other duties and requirements as identified and/or prescribed to meet program requirements.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- Demonstrated competence through satisfactory, progressive performance as an Electrician, Maintenance Worker.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ electrical maintenance experience on systems of comparable complexity.
- Graduation from a two (2) year electrical technician course at an accredited technical institute or completion of equivalent formal training on a comparable system.
- Experience and competence in at least four (4) of the following areas:
- Electrical system installation
- Electrical system diagnostics
- Preventive maintenance
- Electrical system troubleshooting
- Wiring and circuit installation
- Electrical panel upgrades
- Conduit bending and installation
- Electrical safety protocols

Security Responsibilities
- Eligible to obtain and maintain (if required) a DoD Personnel Security Clearance.
- Must comply with all company Information Systems security policies and procedures.
- May be responsible for proper classification and marking of all information and materials. Employee shall not divulge any information or afford access to other employees not having a need-to-know authorization. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. Will be required to execute company non-disclosure agreement prior to access to any controlled information.

Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret the complex word and technical documents/diagrams.
Must be able to effectively communicate orally and in writing and work effectively as part of a team.
Reasoning Ability and Mathematical Skills
Must be able to analyze problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. An ability to interpret complex customer requirements and attitudes from verbal, non-verbal, and written communication is desirable. Must be able to calculate figures and numbers, and percentages and be able to draw and interpret graphs. Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and drawings.
